Through no fault of their own, over half a million children across the UK live in the poverty bracket and will go back to school hungry and without the essential supplies for the new school term.

Introducing the Sedulo Back to School Appeal, which aims to deliver essential school supplies for 1,000 children across the UK who need them the most.

Alongside our Back to School partner, the Michael Carrick Foundation, our goal is to help families hit hardest and, with children out of school for Summer with no access to free school meals, face the prospect of returning to their new school year malnourished.

Our first official Back to School Appeal aims to help 1,000 CHILDREN across our home cities of Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and London, as well as Newcastle.

On the importance of the Sedulo Back to School Appeal, Paul Cheetham-Karcz, founder of Sedulo Group explained:

“For over 13 years we’ve actively campaigned to make life easier for children living in impoverished conditions out of their control. Unfortunately, with external factors such as rising costs of living and energy crises, campaigns like this are needed more than ever.

“Our Back to School Appeal follows past Sedulo initiatives such as our Christmas Toy Appeal, donating 250 learn-from-home packs to the Michael Carrick Foundation and delivering tablets and laptops to support the learning of Hackney school children living in digital poverty. Thank you to every Sedulo team member, client, contact and friend of the firm who has support these initiatives in the past with whatever they can afford.

“And this year, because of your kindness, 1,000 children across Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, London and Newcastle will return to their studies nourished, happier, and ready to start their next school year.”

How does it work & what’s in the bag?

We reach out to the primary schools close to Sedulo team members and our offices, as well as charities, to find those children and families who are affected most by poor living conditions out of their control.

Through sponsorship, supporters simply select a child from our lists based on their name, age and location and purchase Back to School packs filled with learning essentials, food items and a Nando’s voucher so children can enjoy some independence, as well as hot food.

Packs are created by the Sedulo team in our office locations and distributed through our network of local community schools and charities.
