Building a successful business from a reality TV programme may seem like a pipe dream, but ex The Apprentice candidate and Director of This is Prime, Neil Clough, is proving the exact opposite as his recruitment and sales business thrives across the UK.
The renowned BBC show shot Neil to fame as he became famously known as the most successful sales person of season 9. The 2013 series also saw him triumphantly win all tasks before narrowly missing out on the top spot as Sir Alan Sugar’s right-hand man.
Being famously fired from the show came as a blessing in disguise for the self-made entrepreneur as the doors were left wide open for him to pursue his own business goals. Learning from the show that it’s best to stick to what you know, he took the first step to launch a sales business – something he has spent his entire business career developing.
Now, 4 years in the making, the company’s aim to train graduates and change the perception of sales in the UK is proving a great success. Launching offices in both Manchester and London has saw the business reach new heights and enabled Neil to further pursue side projects such as motivational speaking.
Speaking about business growth on the, Taking Care of Business, podcast Neil Clough commented:
“We’re growing. We’ve got 6% growth year on year and this year we’ll do the same again.
With growth comes more pressure and expectation. You must adapt, change and do something different and we’ve got that.
Evolving is the next part of our challenge. We’ve had something good for the past four years and it’s working but we’ve now got to evolve that. We’ve got a hell of a long way to go but I’m excited about it.”
