Our year review – 2015

2015 will be remembered as the year where significant steps were made across the board. New clients came in both numbers and variety; new staff of all levels of experience boosted our ranks, and all this has built up to provide a new home for Sedulo in 2016.

Here are the highlights of another busy year…

It’s been a great year in welcoming new clients through our doors and has seen us work with new businesses from industries including sport, digital media, motoring, property, charity, food & drink and more.

We have been a regular feature in the press and media outlets, with publications such as the Business Desk, Insider, Manchester Evening News and more featuring stories on our growth, new team members and more. As well as growth in terms of clients and team members, Sedulo Wealth Management have also enjoyed considerable continued media exposure in the likes of FT Adviser, Citywire and many more. The work that Sedulo Wealth Management do has also been recognised with them being short-listed for 4 different awards.

Sedulo Payroll Services opened its doors to contractors in August, becoming an immediate hit. At this moment in time, around 200 men per week trust the SPS team with paying their wages.

2015 saw the official launch of the Sedulo Community Project, with fundraisers being held in the form of a day at Chester Races and a golf day. Amongst all of the other work we do, sponsorship and donations we make, as well as the individual fundraisers members of our team take on throughout the year, the Sedulo Community Project has contributed over £21,000 in 2015.

In the last 12 months we have seen no less than 7 new faces in our hallways, with new recruits across the board. The Tax department saw the addition of another dynamic, firstly with the recruitment of a Tax Manager in the form of David Evans, in May, and then the appointment of Natalie Ferguson in July as Tax Assistant.

Sedulo Wealth Management have also enjoyed another year of growth in the team department, with Chloe Mason joining in August as our newest Financial Planning Consultant and Rachel Wheeler towards the end of the year as our Senior Financial Administrator.

The introduction of Sedulo Payroll Services saw Dean Martin head up the team at Payroll. Arshiya Shaheen joined us soon after to provide extra support as Payroll Assistant. Marketing also saw a new team member join us, with Jules Boyle arriving as Marketing Assistant in September.

Our trainees have also progressed rapidly, with Emma Dann completing her Level 3 AAT in July and beginning the Level 4 qualification in November. Brad Langton passed his level 2 AAT and Bilal Ahmed continues to fly through his qualifications in Wealth Management. Last but not least, after joining us in September, Jules jumped straight onto a CIM qualification course with one exam down and more to come in 2016. 2015 has been a year of personal triumphs for our team as well. Dave celebrated getting married in October and Natalie Ferguson passing her driving test in the latter part of the year.

On the charity side, Paul Lindfield and Adam competed in the Great Manchester Run, Lee completed his first triathlon and Elaine managed to raise £1,000 by giving up her prized rioja for a month. Rachael completed the Color Run for Once Upon A Smile and there were victories for our teams in charity tournaments in both football and cricket. We’ve also had a number of big birthdays this year as well, with Adam White and Dan Wilson both turning 30, Brad and Bilal both celebrating their 21st birthdays and Natalie Ferguson turning 18.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make 2015 what it was for us. Here’s to 2016…
