Friday 1st June saw the Sedulo Manchester office transformed into a secret festival for one day only.
Preston-based ticket outlet and events guide, Skiddle, and award-winning media production company, Tunafish Media, teamed up with the financial services firm to swap the desks for a dancefloor as they surprised 100 staff with a full day of festival, including mud, in their very own office.
Unexpecting employees rolled into work glammed up under the pretence of a ‘corporate headshot day’, but instead were greeted by security complete with sniffer pugs and ticket banding. Once the staff had made it through security, they found themselves surrounded by an array of stilted Unicorn dancers, glitter, morning cocktails and a fancy dress fiesta, amongst a backdrop of festival music.
UK grime artist Big Narstie got in on the action as he treated the team to a performance of chart-toppers, and the surprises kept on coming as they conga’d their way onto the rooftop to enjoy complimentary cocktails, tacos and live music in the sun.
Leaving the laptops on the sideline to let loose in the office was of course greatly received by the team and being joined two of the cutest dogs EVER made the day complete and has helped the staff officially launch their “Please can we get an office dog?’ campaign to Managing Partner Paul Cheetham.
The only Sedulo team member in on the secret was Marketing Manager, Adam White, who said:
This was a really fun project to be a part of. It was a bit of a challenge to keep the thing under wraps and it involved a few secret meetings but seeing everyone arrive on the day and genuinely have no clue what they were walking into made it all worth it – not to mention hilarious to watch. A lot of credit has to go to the Skiddle and Tunafish teams as well – to transform three floors of what is a pretty big office overnight was a test, but the planning they put in place made it all work.
On why they chose Sedulo, Business Development Manager & Strategist at Tunafish Media, Martyn Hillier, said:
Tunafish chose Sedulo because we have a long-lasting and positive relationship which means that we knew the whole office would enjoy and engage with the Festival Takeover due to our culture alignment and similar client base.
And on pulling off the latest in a line of Tunafish stunts, he said:
To see the Sedulo accountants letting their hair down on a Friday and having fun was really enjoyable. Not only that, witnessing online publications and influencers using our content whilst our target audience engaged online and then proceeded to the Skiddle website to purchase festival tickets was the perfect way for the day to be topped off.
Skiddle and Tuna Fish have certainly set the bar with the Sedulo takeover and we with the summer in full swing it will be exciting what is to come next.
