An exciting position as arisen within our Manchester city centre office for an Payroll and Administration Assitant to ensure the payroll service provision is excellent, processing numerous payrolls accurately and professionally following the correct processes


About the role

We are a progressive, fast-growing, dynamic firm specialising in exciting sectors. Role objectives include:

ROLE OBJECTIVES

  • Processes payroll accurately and to deadlines
  • Processes payroll accurately and to deadlines
  • Maintains all files for payroll clients and internal filing kept up to date daily
  • Completes all payroll letters and ensures all RTI paperwork is in place
  • Completes PAYE registrations for new clients
  • Ensures telephones are answered in the correct manner and within 5 rings to provide excellent service to clients. All messages to be forwarded onto relevant team members and followed up when necessary
  • Completes all admin tasks requested
  • Updates tax codes from HRMC on clients Sage daily
  • Check HMRC for anomalies on client payments vs RTI
  • Ensures all EPS is filed with HMRC for SMP/SPP
  • Ensures all post is dealt with each day, incoming post is dated and posted onto the post log daily and outgoing post is sent at the end of each day
  • Responsible for making sure all housekeeping is maintained to a high standard in own area
  • Updates the Iris system and client’s electronic files with client information
  • Maintains all files for clients and ensure internal filing system is kept up to date daily
  • Maintains and repairs Standard letters and makes sure of their usage
  • Ensures a monthly stationary order is placed and a log updated with costs
  • Completes all admin tasks requested by Line Manager
  • Complies with all Health & Safety procedures
  • Complies with all confidentiality rules
  • Takes ownership for own development

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Confidentiality
  • Experience in PAYE
  • Experience in Sage Line 50
  • Experience in timesheets
  • Previous experience in processing payrolls
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Data entry skills
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Ability to prioritise time effectively
  • Computer literate – Microsoft Office
